The Horizon Records is a global nonprofit record label and artist development organization producing, recording, releasing, and developing emerging artists through music production, education, and creative entrepreneurship.
We are a project of the CultureTrust of Greater Philadelphia, a charitable 501(c)(3) trust, supporting diverse cultural practices in the Philadelphia region.
The Horizon Records provides free recording studios and workshops as creative tools to improve writing skills and develop strong youth leaders in the classroom and community. Through our community recording sessions, artists network, learning resources, and civic engagement initiatives , The Horizon Records is supporting a global network of change makers.
Initiatives and Projects:
The Horizon Records’ GRAMMY® Spoken Word Recording Program helps poets and spoken word artists move their work from the page, to the studio, to a professionally finished recording.
As a registered media company with the Recording Academy, The Horizon Records provides selected artists with donated recording grants, professional services, education, and submission support. The goal is to remove the financial and technical barriers that can prevent independent spoken word artists from creating professional recordings and understanding the GRAMMY Awards submission process.
In the Mix Mixtapes provides studio based community recording jam sessions allows the solo artists to collaborate with others.
